LCT Gravity & Magnetics Software

Xcalibur Smart Mapping specializes in gravity and magnetics data processing, analysis, interpretation, and management. Their LCT software suite creates models of the earth subsurface, performs forward modeling and joint inversion constrained by various data sources.

The software is designed for large petroleum companies and research institutions, offering a complete package for gravity and magnetic modeling, interpretation, and data processing. They provide 2D and 3D modeling capabilities, grid filtering tools, magnetic depth estimation software, and interactive data processing systems.

With over 100 years of cumulative experience, Xcalibur Smart Mapping also offers consultancy services for survey design, data processing, integration, and interpretation. They utilize proprietary software to enhance results and offer value-added services.

Airborne Magnetics and Radiometrics (MagRad)

Xcalibur Smart Mapping offers market-leading Airborne Magnetics and Radiometrics (MagRad) surveys for mineral exploration, environmental assessments, and oil & gas projects. These surveys use magnetic and radiometric technology to identify magnetic mineral deposits and geological mapping.

The surveys are typically flown using customized, low-flying for maximum efficiency and ultra-high-resolution geophysical data.

The survey height is generally only limited by the height of vegetation and man-made features. Xcalibur also offers helicopter-specific applications for difficult areas, using boom-tip mounted magnetometers and radiometric crystal packs to acquire ultra-high resolution magnetic and radiometric data in rugged terrains.

Airborne Electromagnetics (AEM)

Xcalibur Smart Mapping offers a full range of industry-leading airborne electromagnetics (AEM) technologies for conductivity mapping and target detection.

AEM systems are designed for different applications, providing the best technical and commercial solutions. These systems can image targets at the surface or depths in excess of 600 ground meters, delivering simultaneously electromagnetic and magnetic, and optional radiometric. Xcalibur’s AEM systems are proprietary and have undergone extensive research and development.

The TEMPEST® system is a fixed-wing AEM system with high resolution and broad bandwidth. HELITEM²® is a helicopter low base frequency time-domain AEM system with enhanced sensitivity to conductive targets, while RESOLVE® frequency domain offers the highest resolution for near-surface conductivity measurements.

Airborne Scalar Gravity (ASG)

Scalar gravity measurements have diverse applications in geological mapping, oil and gas exploration, and geodetic studies. Xcalibur Smart Mapping offers the iCORUS-X scalar gravimeter, a unique device that acquires gravity data without requiring a stabilized platform. This exclusive system delivers data with half the noise levels of other commercially available systems. The iCORUS-X is compact and robust, allowing high-quality scalar gravity data to be acquired simultaneously with magnetic, electromagnetic, or gravity gradiometry surveys, even under turbulent conditions. The iCORUS-X can achieve gravity data quality of <1.0mGal at a resolution of 3km when flown at wider line spacings, and higher resolution datasets can be obtained through oversampling at tighter line spacings.

We emphasize the integration of multiple geophysical and geological datasets to push the boundaries of discovery. Xcalibur Smart Mapping collects state-of-the-art marine gravity and magnetic data on seismic vessels, either as standalone surveys or in conjunction with seismic surveys.

We have a track record of providing ancillary datasets to major marine seismic players. Xcalibur Smart Mapping ensures effective acquisition and processing of marine data, maintaining high productivity and utilizing the INTEGRAV™ project management system for client communication and data quality verification.

Airborne Gravity Gradiometry (AGG) FALCON

Xcalibur Smart Mapping is a leader in FALCON® Airborne Gravity Gradiometry (AGG) technology, providing high-resolution and high-quality gravity solutions for mapping and target detection in various sectors.

Developed in collaboration with Lockheed Martin, FALCON AGG is specifically designed for challenging airborne environments. Xcalibur operates six FALCON systems globally on fixed-wing and helicopter platforms, offering the highest data quality and lowest noise specifications.

The surveys cover 100% of the area, including topography, vegetation, and restricted areas. Magnetic data is acquired as standard, and radiometric data can be optionally included.

The FALCON family offers different system options tailored to meet exploration needs, ensuring efficient operations with minimal environmental impact.

The Air Tractor is a versatile aircraft with several key features. It can operate in challenging environments such as short airstrips, salt pans, and farm roads, making it ideal for survey work. Its structurally efficient airframe reduces drag force, while the long fuselage enhances stability on the ground and in the air. The heavy-duty landing gear acts as a shock absorber during landings. The aircraft is optimized for low flying, resulting in improved data resolution. It also prioritizes pilot safety with the use of AMSAFE seatbelt airbags and a cockpit design inspired by Formula One race cars.
