Xcalibur and partners to deploy UAE’s first autonomous mapping system for critical minerals; supporting UAE’s ambition to be a smart and autonomous vehicles leader

Xcalibur Multiphysics, Teledyne Geospatial and Bayanat partnering to launch UAE-first autonomous geophysical mapping system

This industry leading partnership will enable the development of next generation autonomous surveying technologies, including drones and underwater vehicles.

Xcalibur Multiphysics, the global leader in airborne geophysics, and Teledyne Geospatial, a leader in marine mapping software, have today signed Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with Bayanat, a leader in artificial intelligence-powered geospatial solutions.

The MoUs were signed on the occasion of the launch of Abu Dhabi’s Smart and Autonomous Vehicles Industries (SAVI) cluster. Xcalibur, Teledyne Bayanat are proud to support Abu Dhabi’s ambition to be a leading smart and autonomous vehicles hub.

This partnership supports Abu Dhabi’s goal for the cluster to contribute up to AED120 billion to the UAE economy and generate up to 50,000 jobs over time.

As part of the agreement, the three companies agreed to partner on the deployment of a UAE-first state-of-the-art geophysical autonomous system to map natural resources with a focus on critical minerals such as copper, lithium, nickel, cobalt – which are essential for the transition to a lower carbon energy system – as well as water, geothermal and hydrogen energy.

The companies will also work together to further develop next generation autonomous surveying technologies such as drones and underwater vehicles, leveraging technologies such artificial intelligence, Near Real Time (NRT), Edge Computing, Digital Twins, and digital mapping.

Dario Castellanos, VP of Financing and Middle East director of Xcalibur Multiphysics said: “This partnership with Bayanat and Teledyne Geospatial signals our shared commitment to unlocking k the potential of cutting-edge geospatial technologies and mapping natural resources in order to advance the UAE’s geophysical capabilities.

Together, we’ll play a significant role in shaping a more sustainable and connected future”. Abdulla Al Shamsi, COO of Bayanat, added: “Our partnerships with Xcalibur Multiphysics and Teledyne Geospatial mark a transformative moment in our journey towards advancing geospatial and autonomous technologies.

By joining forces with these industry leaders, we are not only enhancing Abu Dhabi’s position as a smart mobility hub, but we are also collaborating on groundbreaking solutions that will drive innovation across cities, energy, national security, and environmental preservation, reinforcing our commitment to pioneering progress in these critical areas.”

Xcalibur Multiphysics completes three MAG/RAD blocks in Colombia

Colombia

The survey campaign was carried out between February 2020 and December 2021, where acquired 85.269 linear kilometers of magnetometry and gamma ray spectrometry (SL: 500 m TL: 5.000 m)

Xcalibur Multiphysics, is pleased to report the final delivery of the results of the contract No. 864/2019 signed between the COLOMBIAN GEOLOGICAL SERVICE “ SGC and Xcalibur Multiphysics Colombia, in order to perform the AEROTRANSPORTED GEOPHYSICAL DATA SURVEY OF MAGNETOMETRY AND GAMMA SPECTROMETRY IN AREAS OF INTEREST OF THE COLOMBIAN TERRITORY: NARIÃ, MACIZO AND QUETAME BLOCK, the Narià block of 16.000 km2, Macizo of 10.116 km2, and the Quetame block of 12.476 km2, located in the Andean region of the Colombian territory.

The survey campaign was carried out between February 2020 and December 2021, where acquired 85.269 linear kilometers of magnetometry and gamma ray spectrometry (SL: 500 m TL: 5.000 m), which were executed following the procedures and standards set by the SGC for calibration, data acquisition, processing and delivery of final products, including among others, Databases, Flight Line Path maps, Digital Terrain Model, Total Magnetic Field Anomaly, First Vertical Derivative, Analytical Signal, Magnetic Pole Reduction, Uranium, Potassium, Thorium concentrations, Gamma Ray Spectrometry Ternary Map, all mounted on a Geographic Information System.

The experience of the work team in areas of high mountain terrain with extreme relief, volcanic peaks and deep valleys allowed providing relevant information for the identification of natural hazards of geological origin, geological mapping, tectonic evolution and investigation of mineral resources, complying with the technical specifications of the Colombian governing and institutional authorities.

Xcalibur Multiphysics signs a contract with the Ministry of Mines for the aerogeophysical and geological mapping of The Democratic Republic of Congo

Xcalibur Multiphysics signs a contract with the Ministry of Mines for the aerogeophysical and geological mapping of The Democratic Republic of Congo

The Minister of Mines of the DRC, Antoinette NSamba Kalambayi, together with Andrés Blanco, CEO of Xcalibur Multiphysics

Last Tuesday, April 5th, Xcalibur Multiphysics completed the signing of the contract for the geophysical and geological Mapping of the DRC.

In representation of the Minister of Mines, Mrs. Antoinette NSamba Kalambayi, the Spanish Ambassador to the DRC, Mr. Carlos Robles Fraga, and several officials of the specialized services and the Mining Administration attended the event where Xcalibur Multiphysics completed the signing of the contract.

According to the Minister, this contract represents the fulfillment of an important part of the DRC government’s action program, as it will make a significant change in the financing of the country’s infrastructures and economic sectors and will facilitate the protection and sustainable management as well as the revaluation of mining assets.

For the DRC, this ambitious research will allow to plan and enhance the development of the mining industry and the country’s entire economy.

At once, the Director General of the National Geological Survey of Congo, Prof. Donat Kampata, recalled the history of the creation of his service in response to the needs of the mining sector, and presented the advantages of this contract for both the Ministry of Mines and the geological survey. With this project, the Government will be able to plan the development of the mining industry and negotiate with investors.

Mr. Andrés Blanco, CEO of Xcalibur Multiphysics, a world leader in airborne and marine geophysics, highlighted the true significance of this project. It will allow the country to discover and develop the great potential of its natural resources using the best available technology for obtaining accurate data, so as to attract international investors in the best conditions and develop the mining industry in a truly sustainable way.

With this project, Xcalibur adds another landmark in its successful history, with more than 50 million linear kilometers of data obtained and processed, continuing with the execution of natural resource mapping projects with safety, sustainability, technological innovation, operational excellence and cost efficiency at the heart of its core values.
