Xcalibur’s R&D Advances in Geophysical Applications with Machine Learning

Xcalibur’s R&D team leverages machine learning to enhance the processing and interpretation of large-scale geophysical data, accelerating natural capital discovery for the energy transition. Through airborne geophysical surveys, they map surface and subsurface features, demanding rigorous data processing. The team has developed tools, including a Gaussian Markov Field-based method for data levelling, ensuring spatial continuity and faster processing times. Additionally, convolutional models aid in automated geological feature identification, streamlining previously labor-intensive tasks. Ultimately, these innovations aim to produce reliable maps and explore complex models, like Generative Adversarial Networks, to refine exploration targets and boost discovery success.
