Mining Queensland’s Post

Today the Geological Survey of Queensland, in collaboration with Geoscience Australia, has released the data and models for the North East Queensland AusAEM survey. Covering almost 30,000 line km at a 20km spacing will extend the AusAEM coverage to the east coast between Cairns and Bundaberg and south into the Adavale Basin in central Queensland. By mapping subsurface electrical conductivity along these lines, this dataset supports the mapping of regional geological structures and the identification of potential mineral deposits and areas with economically significant mineralisation. The AusAEM survey also allows for smaller exploration data to be viewed in a broader geological context and interpretations to be made between surveys. The North East Queensland AusAEM survey was funded via the Queensland Government’s Queensland Resources Industry Development Plan, with contributions from the Commonwealth Government’s Data Driven Discoveries program and Resourcing Australia’s Prosperity initiative. The survey was flown by Xcalibur Smart Mapping using the TEMPEST airborne electromagnetic system. ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gqVmxzEd Matthew Greenwood | Tony Knight | Janelle Kerr
